Our psychiatrists communicate with the community prescriber ensuring medication changes fit within their treatment plan. Additionally, we value and foster collaboration with community providers as we serve as an extension of each client’s treatment team. The two-way communication ensures clients receive seamless continuity of care as they transition into and out of our program. We’ll help you get healthy again, too, with medical and dental care, fitness programs, support for your mental health and more. All housing programs offer counseling, referral, and resident advocacy and are designed to support the Odyssey House dedication to continuity of care and aftercare services. Stephanie began fieldwork as a Behavioral Aide in a residential setting, working with adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries and other mental health diagnoses.

Our Bronx Urban Youth Initiative (BUY-IN) is an innovative substance abuse treatment program for teens and young adults and their family members. The free-to-enroll program rewards participants not using drugs or alcohol so they can learn to make healthy lifestyle changes on their own. The Odyssey House ElderCare program was created in 1997 with a grant from the Rosenback Foundation to specifically treat older people with substance use and mental health disorders.

Our Outpatient Services center also provides ongoing counseling and support for individuals who have completed our residential program. These programs—provided by our Outpatient Services center in the Bronx—can help you obtain the treatment and counseling you need while continuing to maintain your everyday life. In 1973, Odyssey House led the treatment field with the first residential center to help addicted parents and their children. Early childhood development counselors and a medical staff attended to the young families, guiding their recovery and providing the necessary skills for parenting in a safe, drug-free environment. A second center opened in 1994 also offering a fully equipped nursery, preschool, and outdoor playground on-site. In 1970, three years after its inception, Odyssey House opened the Teen Leadership Center in response to the pressing epidemic of drug-troubled youths.

Next, Katie moved to Ascend Healthcare and learned to utilize ecotherapy while working with neurodivergent adolescents in a residential setting. Her time at Ascend taught her to be creative with her approach and utilize various modalities to address clients’ needs.
